Role & Responsibilities - What you will do:

As an iOS SDK Engineer for Arcade, you will play a critical role in developing the engine or middleware that powers multiple game titles, focusing on SDK stability, performance, and integration with third-party networks (ad networks, analytics, in-app purchases). This role requires a blend of deep iOS native knowledge and experience in game engine integration.

Your missions will be the following:

  • SDK Development & Maintenance: Building, testing, and maintaining native iOS SDKs (Swift/Objective-C) to be used across multiple games.
  • Game Engine Integration: Integrating the SDK with game engines, primarily Unity (C#) or Unreal Engine.
  • Third-Party Integration: Managing integrations with third-party tools like Meta, Google AdMob, and Analytics.
  • Performance Optimization: Ensuring the SDK does not impact game performance, including minimizing startup impact, reducing binary size, and efficient resource management.
  • Platform Updates: Staying ahead of Apple iOS changes and ensuring the SDK is compatible with the latest devices and API guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Years of Experience: 3 - 5 years of professional experience in mobile development, with a focus on iOS.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Gaming Background: Prior experience in the gaming industry or developing SDKs/developer tools is highly preferred.
  • Languages: Expert proficiency in Swift and Objective-C (essential for legacy game codebases).
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of iOS app lifecycle, app extensions, background execution modes, memory management, static vs dynamic frameworks, XCFrameworks
  • Game Engines: Familiarity with Unity 3D and C# is highly desirable. (Good to have)
  • Frameworks: Cocoa Touch, Core Data, and Core Animation.
  • Tools: Xcode, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Architecture: Strong understanding of iOS design principles, MVP/MVVM, and clean architecture.
  • Networking: Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and backend services.
