Job Description

State Street's Global Product organisation is seeking an Assistant Vice President to join the Product Control team within the Product organisation. This role will support the financial management, analytics, and management information (MI) capabilities of the Liquidity product set and contribute to improved transparency, insight, and decision‑making across the business.

Function

The Custody Product organisation encompasses Product Management, Product Development, Network Management, and Product Control. The Product Control function is responsible for supporting the control framework, developing analytical and reporting capabilities, and providing financial insight to enable effective management of product performance.

Role Purpose

The Product Control function is responsible for building a scalable, data-driven Product platform that enables effective decision-making across Product Management.

This AVP role, based in India, sits within a global Product Control delivery model and focuses on designing and building analytics, data models, and reporting solutions at scale, with a working understanding of liquidity products (e.g., deposits, cash, overdrafts).

You will play a key role in engineering data-driven solutions that support product strategy, pricing, P&L, and liquidity analytics, while partnering with global stakeholders across Product, Treasury, Finance, and Technology.

Reporting Line

Reports locally into VP, Product Control (India) with global functional alignment

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Engineering & Platform Build (Core Focus)

  • Lead and support data sourcing, mining, and mapping initiatives across product and liquidity datasets

  • Design and implement robust data models to support pricing, P&L, and product analytics

  • Build scalable data pipelines and resolve data quality and integrity issues across multiple sources

  • Support automation and modernisation of Product Control reporting infrastructure

2. Advanced Analytics & Dashboard Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality dashboards (Tableau / Power BI) for Product Scorecards, IT demand, and bespoke analytics

  • Build decision-support tools that provide insights into product performance, pricing, and client behaviour

  • Translate large datasets into clear, insight-led visual narratives for global stakeholders

3. Liquidity & Product Understanding (Value-Add Capability)

  • Develop a working understanding of liquidity products including deposits, funding, and NII drivers

  • Support analysis of product balances, pricing trends, and revenue drivers

  • Partner with Product and Treasury teams to incorporate liquidity context into analytics and reporting

4. Global Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with teams across Product, Treasury, FP&A, Finance, and Technology globally

  • Act as a bridge between business and development teams, translating business requirements into scalable solutions

  • Support delivery of global initiatives and strategic analytics projects

5. Strategy Enablement & Reporting

  • Support development of product strategy decks, business cases, and roadmap analytics

  • Provide data-driven insights to support commercial decision-making and performance tracking

  • Contribute to building a consistent Product Control reporting framework across regions

6. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Drive automation and efficiency across reporting and analytics processes

  • Introduce best practices in data modelling, BI development, and visualisation

  • Contribute to building a next-generation Product Control capability in India (COE mindset)

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Skills (Priority)

  • Strong experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering within financial services

  • Advanced experience in Tableau / Power BI (must-have)

  • Strong SQL, data modelling, and data transformation (ETL) expertise

  • Experience working with large-scale data environments / data warehouses

  • Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages (preferred)

Domain Knowledge (Secondary but Important)

  • Exposure to banking / financial services, ideally with some knowledge of:

    • Liquidity or cash products (deposits, overdrafts, funding)

    • P&L drivers and pricing concepts

  • Ability to connect analytics outputs to commercial / balance sheet impact

Behavioural & Delivery Traits

  • Strong ownership mindset - able to deliver end-to-end solutions independently

  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving capability

  • Strong communication skills to engage global stakeholders

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment

  • Continuous learning mindset with ability to quickly adapt to new tools and technologies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, or related discipline

  • Total of 10 years and6-10 years of experience in analytics, BI, or data engineering roles

Success Profile (India AVP)

The successful candidate will:

  • Act as a core build resource for Product Control data and analytics capabilities

  • Deliver scalable dashboards and automated reporting solutions used globally

  • Combine technical depth with functional awareness (liquidity/product context)

  • Be a trusted delivery partner to global Product teams
