We, at Bharti Axa Life Insurance are looking for candidate who are looking to grow with a fast growing organization.
The role primarily focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance, managing operational risks, and acting as the crucial link between the front office (investment team) and the back office (settlements and accounting) & other stake holders (actuarial, finance, etc).
Key Responsibilities:
1.Investment Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all investment activities comply with internal limits and regulations set by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), the Insurance Act, RBI, and SEBI. This includes performing daily (BOD, EOD) compliance checks. Preparation of IRDA returns on monthly and quarterly basis. Ensure end to end management of derivatives instruments, overseeing and controlling BAU activities and monitoring mid office activities.
2 Risk Management & Controls: Implement and monitor robust risk management frameworks, including market and credit risk, and maintain an effective Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA). This role is vital for identifying potential operational risks and implementing mitigation plans.
3.Trade Lifecycle Management: Oversee day-to-day middle office functions across the entire trade lifecycle, including trade capture, P&L (Profit & Loss) calculation, security master maintenance, settlements, reconciliations, and exception management.
4.Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the operational bridge between the Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Fund Accounting, Custodians, and Brokers to resolve operational issues and ensure smooth processes.
5.Audit and Governance: Serve as the lead for all internal, statutory, and regulatory audits, preparing data, leading walkthroughs, and ensuring all findings are closed in a timely manner. This involves maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
6.Process Enhancement & Automation: Identify opportunities for process automation, digitization, and Straight-Through Processing (STP), collaborating with IT/technology teams to implement new tools and workflows.
7.Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of middle office analysts and senior associates, fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous learning.
8.MIS & Reporting: Prepare and present Management Information Systems (MIS) reports, performance insights, and other critical reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
Experience: 6-8+ years of relevant experience in investment operations, Mid Office, or Back Office, with proven experience in managing teams and handling risk and control frameworks. Experience within the life insurance sector is preferred.
Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of financial markets, instruments, trade lifecycle operations, and investment regulations. Familiarity with financial software such as Bloomberg Terminal, Aladdin, Power BI, Tableau, and Excel/VBA is beneficial.
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for managing diverse stakeholders and presenting to senior management. Strong leadership and people management capabilities are also crucial.
