Position:Investment / Valuation Analyst Renewable Energy

Role Overview:

This role focuses on valuation of equity and debt investments in renewable energy projects and platforms. The incumbent will leverage robust financial models and sector-specific regulatory knowledge to support investment decisions across solar and wind assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and audit detailed financial models (project and equity level) including three-statement models, DCFs, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Perform equity valuation for operating and under-construction renewable assets using standard valuation methodologies.
  • Analyse and value project finance debt, bonds, and structured instruments.
  • Evaluate project and equity returns (IRR, NPV, payback period, etc.).
  • Analyse financial statements to assess performance, risks, and key value drivers.
  • Prepare investment memos and presentations for senior management, lenders, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and update models based on actuals and regulatory changes.
  • Track regulatory developments impacting solar and wind projects.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong proficiency in Excel-based financial modelling.
  • Hands-on experience in valuation techniques (DCF, comparables, precedent transactions).
  • Knowledge of debt valuation and credit risk fundamentals.
  • Solid accounting and financial statement analysis skills.
  • Understanding of project finance metrics and renewable energy business models.
  • Awareness of regulatory and policy frameworks impacting renewables.

Qualifications:

  • MBA (Finance) preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment analysis, project finance, or equity research
