Your role

As key member of the Pictet Asset Management (PAM) Asia Equity Special Situations team, this role supports the Lead Portfolio Manager by conducting investment research across Asia-Pacific equity markets, with a focus on identifying liquid, event-driven trading opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain proprietary financial models (including LBO, DCF, NAV, relative value comparables and merger arbitrage spread analyses) and clearly articulate trading ideas to internal stakeholders.
  • Proactively monitor announced corporate events and quantify key risk factors, risk/reward profiles and marketimplied expectations, updating assumptions in a timely and rigorous manner.
  • Maintain active dialogue with sell-side analysts, meet company management teams and participate in relevant industry conferences.
  • Contribute to portfolio risk monitoring and help implement a robust framework to mitigate factor risks across substrategies.

Your profile

  • University degree in Finance, Law or Mathematics; industry qualifications such as the CFA are an asset.
  • Experience on the buy side (e.g. hedge fund) or at a global investment bank, with a focus on equities, investment banking or quantitative investment.
  • Proven experience in Asian equity markets, with a solid understanding of M&A and equity capital markets; index rebalance expertise is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Asia-Pacific market regulations, including Japan and Australia.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; resultsoriented, driven and a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Bloomberg and Excel, including VBA; exposure to Python is an advantage.

The successful candidate is versatile, selfmotivated, detailoriented and highly diligent. You will demonstrate strong financial, risk management and regulatory knowledge, and work in a disciplined, rigorous and forwardthinking manner. You will also be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with key business stakeholders.
