Role Overview:
The Inventory Controller is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory management at the Distribution Centre (DC). This role focuses on maintaining stock accuracy, tracking shelf life, ensuring FIFO compliance, proper storage of materials, and timely allocation to production. The position plays a critical role in minimizing stock loss, ensuring product quality, and enabling smooth production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accuracy of opening and closing stock for all materials stored at the DC.
- Update inventory movements accurately in the system to enable correct MIS and procurement planning.
- Track shelf life of all SKUs physically and in the system to ensure timely allocation to production.
- Ensure strict adherence to FIFO during material issuance.
- Monitor daily dump and stock loss, track quantities, and identify reasons for loss.
- Ensure materials are stored in appropriate environments (Cold, Ambient, AC, etc.) as per product requirements.
- Monitor and maintain storage temperatures; coordinate with Admin for quick resolution of equipment breakdowns.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of storage areas at all times.
- Allocate materials based on indents received from the production team.
- Coordinate closely with production, QA, sourcing, and admin teams for seamless operations.
- Ensure smooth handover and takeover between shifts and supervise 35 labour staff.
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months of experience in Fruits & Vegetables (FnV) handling or inventory operations.
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of MS Excel (sorting, filtering, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).
- Basic understanding of FnV storage, shelf life, and handling practices.
- Ability to manage and get work done from 35 contract labour staff.
- Strong sense of accountability, problem-solving ability, and a proactive, go-getter attitude.
