Consultant Interventional Cardiologist Healthcare: Tertiary Cardiology & Interventional Cardiac Care
Opportunity to join a leading tertiary cardiac care facility in the coastal healthcare sector, delivering high-acuity interventional cardiology services to patients across Andhra Pradesh. The role is a fully on-site consultant position based in Visakhapatnam, focused on delivering excellence in coronary and structural catheter-based interventions within a high-volume cath lab.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-level evaluation and management of patients referred for interventional cardiology inpatient and outpatient care, pre-procedural assessment and post-procedural follow-up.
- Perform diagnostic coronary angiography and complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), including primary PCI for STEMI and multi-vessel interventions.
- Utilize advanced intraprocedural tools and imaging (IVUS/OCT/FFR) to guide device selection, optimize stent deployment and improve procedural outcomes.
- Lead the cath lab team during procedures: supervise junior cardiologists, cath lab nurses and technologists, ensure strict adherence to sterilization, radiation safety and procedural checklists.
- Participate in emergency on-call rota for acute coronary syndromes and provide timely decision-making for mechanical circulatory support and temporary pacing when indicated.
- Contribute to quality improvement: maintain procedure logs, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, and drive adherence to clinical protocols and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications (clinical)
- DM Cardiology or DNB Cardiology (recognized postgraduate interventional qualification)
- Valid Indian medical registration and licence to practice
- Proven track record of independent interventional practice with experience in primary PCI and complex coronary interventions
- Demonstrable participation in cath lab governance, audit, or teaching activities
