Job role : - The Sales Manager – International Markets will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding VVF's Oleo Chemicals business across global markets by developing and managing strategic customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and executing effective sales strategies. The role focuses on increasing market share, achieving revenue and profitability targets, and strengthening VVF's presence in key international regions.
Experience
8–15 years of progressive sales and business development experience in the Oleo Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, Surfactants, Personal Care, Home Care, Lubricants, Food Ingredients, or related chemical industry.
Proven experience in managing international/B2B sales across global markets, with a strong track record of achieving revenue and profitability targets.
Established network and relationships with international distributors, traders, and key industrial customers across target regions.
Strong understanding of international trade practices, export documentation, pricing strategies, Incoterms, and global supply chain management.
Demonstrated ability to identify new market opportunities, negotiate commercial agreements, and successfully close high-value international deals.
Experience in developing market entry strategies, managing key accounts, and driving customer retention and business expansion.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyze market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and customer requirements.
Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills with exposure to multicultural business environments.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a regular basis for customer meetings, business development, and industry events.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Strategizing
Develop the product strategy, including forecasting of challenges (such as competition moves) and enablers for the client relationships.
Contribute to the Annual Business Planning process through accurate revenue forecasting for the product.
Create robust Business Development plans focusing on key products and key geographies and devising strategies for thrust in each of these areas.
Develop strategic initiatives to increase sales volume, including decisions on
- Pricing
- Geographies and accounts
- Key variants for volume growth in products
Plan and implement business development initiatives to increase sales in the account and negotiate with the client.
Gather authentic market information about competitor moves.
Policy and Process Design, Implementation and Review
Monitor execution of the Business Development plan with focus on key products and customers.
Identify new business opportunities based on customer interactions and take forward to a sale through inputs from the business development head.
Oversee key sales and marketing initiatives to ensure adherence to objectives on
- Costs
- Volume
- Customer satisfaction (annual)
Ensure adherence to customer service levels by evolving CRM for customer management and improved decision making.
Audit the product-wise sales plan on monthly basis, look for deviations and bridge the gap.
Maintain awareness about regulatory compliances required for the Oleo industry and the customer.
Coordination and Interface
Interface regularly with supply chain to ensure communication of consignment delivery commitments.
Interface with the R&D and relevant manufacturing head to communicate key account feedback and response.
Communicate to the customers on delivery schedule, pricing, specifications according to the requirements.
Be in touch with customer's R&D, Quality and Purchase departments to ensure capturing of needs and discuss contracts and new business.
Ensure continuous tracking and timely submission of competitor, market, imports and other MIS within the team.
Responding to customer requirements and ensuring that servicing of all orders is done efficiently at agreed service levels.
Continually keep in touch with the market and appropriate trade sources to gather market information and consumer insight as inputs towards the sales and marketing strategy.
Management of performance, capability and morale
Manage performance, support capability building and ensure that individual and individual/ team morale and motivation is positive.
Infrastructure and Technology Investment and Management
Ensure successful deployment of latest sales technologies to assist the sales force in accurate forecasting.
