As a Business Development Manager in the oil and gas upstream industry, you will assume a pivotal role in steering our company's growth. We are in search of a forward-thinking Business Development Manager to join our team and lead our growth initiatives in the oil and gas upstream sector. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities, nurturing relationships, and executing strategies to expand our presence and profitability in this ever-evolving industry.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. **Market Analysis and Research: **
- Conduct comprehensive market research to pinpoint industry trends, potential clients, and emerging prospects.
- Evaluate competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market positioning to establish a competitive advantage.
2. **Strategic Planning: **
- Formulate and execute business development strategies and plans that align with our corporate goals.
- Manage and allocate resources effectively, including the business development budget.
3. **Relationship Building: **
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Identify and cultivate new business relationships with potential clients, joint venture partners, and suppliers.
4. **Opportunity Identification: **
- Identify and assess potential business opportunities, such as mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
- Assess the feasibility and profitability of new projects and ventures.
5. **Proposal Development: **
- Craft and submit persuasive proposals, bids, and tender documents in response to client requests.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams to ensure proposals meet both technical and commercial requirements.
6. **Negotiation and Contract Management: **
- Lead negotiations for contracts, agreements, and commercial terms with clients, suppliers, and partners.
- Ensure strict compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
7. **Performance Monitoring: **
- Monitor and analyze the performance of business development initiatives and projects.
- Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to gauge the success of growth strategies.
8. **Risk Assessment and Mitigation: **
- Identify potential risks associated with business development activities and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Uphold adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
9. **Reporting: **
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, summarizing progress and results in business development.
- Provide data-driven recommendations for future business growth.
- Demonstrate a proven track record in business development within the oil and gas upstream sector, typically with 5-10 years of experience.
- Exhibit a strong grasp of upstream operations, technologies, and industry regulations.
- Possess exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Show proficiency in relevant software and tools, including CRM systems and market analysis software.
- Display effective leadership qualities and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
