About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented International Business Development Manager with strong exposure in pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals. The candidate should have practical experience in international market development, export sales, distributor appointment, product registration coordination, client handling, and business growth.
The ideal candidate should be capable of identifying new markets, developing international clients, managing existing customers, and driving export business for both pharma formulations and nutraceutical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop international business for pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products.
- Identify new export markets, distributors, importers, agents, and strategic partners.
- Generate business leads through market research, trade portals, exhibitions, references, and direct outreach.
- Appoint and manage distributors, country partners, and agents in target international markets.
- Handle end-to-end export business development from lead generation to commercial closure.
- Manage existing international customers and ensure repeat orders, product expansion, and long-term relationships.
- Coordinate with regulatory/DRA teams for product registration, dossiers, documents, artworks, and market-specific requirements.
- Study competitor products, pricing, demand trends, import regulations, and registration requirements in target markets.
- Prepare country-wise and customer-wise business plans for pharma and nutraceutical portfolios.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, MOQs, supply terms, forecasts, and commercial agreements.
- Coordinate with production, QA, supply chain, logistics, accounts, and regulatory teams for timely order execution.
- Follow up for proforma invoices, purchase orders, payments, artworks, shipping documents, and export documentation.
- Participate in international exhibitions, buyer-seller meets, online B2B meetings, and trade events.
- Build business opportunities for branded generics, OTC products, nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, wellness products, and private label products.
- Track customer pipeline, sales performance, forecasts, order status, and market development progress.
- Prepare MIS reports, sales forecasts, client updates, and monthly export performance reports.
- Maintain professional communication with international clients and ensure smooth business coordination.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in international business development/export sales in pharma, nutraceuticals, healthcare, wellness, or related industry.
- Good understanding of pharmaceutical formulations, nutraceutical products, dietary supplements, OTC products, and wellness categories.
- Experience in handling international distributors, importers, agents, and buyers.
- Practical knowledge of export business, documentation, logistics coordination, and payment terms.
- Understanding of product registration, dossiers, regulatory submissions, and country-specific compliance requirements.
- Strong commercial negotiation and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to develop new markets and manage existing international customers.
- Existing international client network will be preferred.
- Experience in regulated, semi-regulated, or emerging markets will be an added advantage.
- Ability to coordinate with DRA, QA, production, purchase, logistics, finance, and marketing teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, follow-up, and reporting skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.

Qualification
- Graduate / Postgraduate in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, International Business, Marketing, or Management.
- MBA in International Business / Marketing will be preferred.
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm with export business experience will be an added advantage.
