Position Summary
The Executive International Business will support the International Business Manager in managing and expanding formulation product business in the South Africa region. The role involves coordination of institutional and tender business, distributor management, market intelligence, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure effective execution of international business operations. This position offers exposure to global pharmaceutical markets and international trade practices.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Support
- Assist in achieving annual sales targets for formulation products in the South Africa region.
- Support management of institutional and tender business, including tender participation and execution.
- Assist in preparation, submission, and follow-up of tenders and institutional contracts.
- Coordinate with distributors and institutional clients for routine business requirements.
Market Development & Client Coordination
- Support identification and development of new business opportunities in the assigned region.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing distributors / customers.
- Assist in organizing and participating in client meetings, negotiations, and business reviews.
Regulatory & Product Registration Support
- Coordinate with internal teams and distributors for product registration, renewals, and related documentation.
- Support liaison with local Ministries of Health (MOH) through authorized partners.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with supply chain, production, regulatory, and logistics teams to ensure timely order execution.
- Track order status, dispatch schedules, and shipment documentation to meet delivery commitments.
Reporting, MIS & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain MIS reports, sales trackers, tender trackers, and business performance data.
- Support sales forecasting, pipeline tracking, and management reporting.
- Prepare professional presentations for internal reviews and management meetings.
Market Intelligence
- Conduct market research on competitor activities, pricing trends, tenders, and regulatory updates.
- Compile market insights to support business strategy and decision-making.
Travel
- Willingness to travel internationally (South Africa), for client meetings, market visits, and business development activities, as required.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Education
- 26 years of experience in international sales / marketing of pharmaceutical formulation products in South Africa market.
- Exposure to institutional sales, tender business, or distributor-based markets preferred.
- MBA (Marketing / International Business) preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Good proficiency in MS Excel, including data analysis, MIS preparation, and report management.
- Strong ability to prepare MIS, sales dashboards, and tender trackers.
- Good skills in preparing professional presentations (PowerPoint) for management and business reviews.
- Basic understanding of international pharmaceutical markets, exports, and trade documentation.
- Familiarity with tender processes, product registrations, and regulatory coordination is an advantage.
- Strong communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Self-driven, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a dynamic international business environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 3040% of the time.
