INTERNAL/GENERAL MEDICINE PHYSICIAN

An Internal/General Medicine Physician's job includes providing comprehensive adult healthcare, from routine check-ups to managing complex and chronic illnesses. Key responsibilities involve conducting physical examinations, analyzing patient data and test results, diagnosing conditions, and developing treatment plans that may include prescribing medication, therapies, and lifestyle changes. They also educate patients on their health and collaborate with other specialists. 

Core responsibilities

• Diagnosis and treatment: Analyze medical history, symptoms, and test results to diagnose conditions and create effective treatment plans.
• Patient care: Provide ongoing care for adults, managing both common ailments like infections and serious chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension.
• Medication management: Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Preventative care: Focus on health promotion and disease prevention, conducting routine check-ups and offering wellness advice.
• Patient communication: Clearly explain medical procedures, test results, and treatment plans to patients and their families.
• Record keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history and test results.
• Collaboration: Work with other healthcare professionals, such as specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
