About Internal Audit
Internal Audit function of the Bank operates independently under the supervision of the Audit Committee of the Board and is responsible for providing an independent view to the Board of Directors and Senior Management on the quality and efficacy of internal controls, risk management systems, governance systems and processes in place on an on-going basis. This is provided to primarily ensure that the business and support functions are in compliance with both internal and regulatory guidelines
AbouttheRole

TheHead - Concurrent Audits and Process / Thematic Audits for Retail Liabilitieswill be responsible foroverall governance, oversight, and effectivenessof the Bank'sConcurrent Audit framework for Retail Liabilities, along with execution ofselect internal, process, and thematic audits.

This senior leadership role entailsmanaging concurrent auditors (external), drivingaudit quality, consistency,and ensuring concurrent audits function as a robustreal‑time risk assurance and early‑warning mechanism. The role plays a critical part in strengtheningprocess discipline, regulatory compliance, fraud risk mitigation, and control governanceacross the retail liabilities ecosystem, while ensuring audit outputs aremanagement‑oriented and regulator‑ready.

Key Responsibilities

A. Management & Oversight of Concurrent Auditors - Retail Liabilities

  • Provide centralised oversight ofbranch concurrent audits, VCIP audits, and other process‑level concurrent auditscovering Retail Liabilities.
  • Manage and guideinternal teams and empanelled concurrent auditors, ensuring uniform audit scope, methodology, and reporting standards.
  • Drive adoption and maturity ofControl Based Auditing (CBA)in concurrent audits, with focus on key controls, risk indicators, and early warning signals.
  • Review and challenge concurrent audit observations to ensurequality, consistency, risk relevance, and regulatory defensibility.
  • Perform thematic and trend analysis of concurrent audit outcomes to identifysystemic issues, emerging risks, and fraud‑prone areas.
  • Monitor closure of concurrent audit observations and escalatehigh‑risk and overdue issuesto senior management.

B. Internal, Process & Thematic Audits - Retail Liabilities for Select areas

  • Plan and conductselect internal audits, process audits, and thematic reviewsof select processes
  • Assess adequacy and operating effectiveness of controls across
  • Identify control gaps, process weaknesses, and compliance issues, and recommendcorrective and preventive actions.
  • Consolidate insights from concurrent and internal audits to supportsenior management reporting, regulatory interactions, and Audit Committee deliberations.

Stakeholder & Regulatory Interface

  • Act as the Single Point of Contact within Internal Audit for matters relating toRetail Liabilities concurrent audits
  • Support internal and regulatory inspections relating to concurrent audit effectiveness and control assurance.
  • Ensure timely remediation and sustainable closure of audit observations, with structured escalation where required.

People Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team members with emphasis on:
    • Retail Liabilities domain knowledge
    • Audit judgment and risk mindset
    • Fraud awareness and regulatory expectations
  • Drive training and capability‑building initiatives for concurrent auditors, including RBI guidelines
  • Promote standardisation, best‑practice sharing, and continuous improvement across concurrent audit operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's / Master's degree inFinance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such asCA / CWA / equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience inInternal Audit, Risk Management, or Banking Operations, with exposure to one or more of the following:
    • Concurrent audits or similar real‑time assurance setups
    • Retail Liabilities processes, including branch and centralised operations

Branch network operations and centralised processing units

  • Experience inmanaging concurrent auditors, includingvendor‑driven audit models, will be preferred.
  • Strong understanding ofRBI regulations, concurrent audit expectations,KYC / VCIP guidelines, operational risk, and fraud risks.
  • Demonstrated ability toengage with senior stakeholdersand effectively present audit matters, key risk themes, and remediation status.
