Overview

AtkinsRealis is looking for an Intern, Entry‑level graduates with a structural engineering background, possessing a solid understanding of structural analysis and design principles. Familiar with applying first principles alongside industry‑standard software tools to support safe and efficient structural engineering solutions.

Your role

• Entry-level engineering graduates with the foundational technical knowledge required to demonstrate their engineering and analytical abilities.
• Good understanding of the digital domain and the ability to use design and modelling software knowledge of a programming language is an advantage.
• Familiar with basic procedures for maintaining records and preparing reports.
• Able to receive on‑the‑job training and perform tasks under appropriate supervision.
• Capable of breaking down complex tasks into manageable parts and clearly articulating requirements, decisions, and outcomes.
• Able to gather relevant information from various sources and assess its appropriateness.
• Comfortable presenting their work in meetings and formal presentations.
• May be required to check the work of technicians.
• Focused on priorities and capable of delivering required outputs with flexibility and responsiveness.
• Disciplined and organized in approaching tasks.
• Takes ownership of assigned work and performs thorough self‑checks to ensure high‑quality deliverables free from spelling, grammatical, data, or calculation errors.
• Applies sound judgment and takes initiative in communication when necessary.
• Demonstrates active listening, asks open‑ended questions, paraphrases to confirm understanding, and is attentive to cues and signals.
• Communicates using clear and precise language, avoiding unnecessary technical jargon.
• Aware of the application of digital technologies to design and engineering problem-solving.
• Invests time and effort in acquiring and maintaining relevant skills and knowledge.
• Views problems as opportunities to learn and grow and shows focus in working toward solutions.
• Develops competence through structured work assignments.
• Actively builds and maintains a network of immediate contacts to support ongoing work.
• Shows curiosity about the bigger picture and underlying causes of problems.
• Monitors their own progress, meets deadlines and informs the Line Manager when targets may not be met.

About you

• Post-Graduates/ Graduates from Structural engineering background are expected to have completed industrial training and produced technical reports as part of their academic curriculum.
• Possesses a basic understanding of design software and engineering tools.
