Role: Intern – Research Archive (Economics / Finance)

Location: Mumbai
Duration: 2 Months
Mode: On-site

About the Role

We are looking for an intern from Economics or Finance backgrounds to work on a Research Archive Project. The project aims to build a structured digital archive of over 40 years of policy and governance research in economics and finance.

This role is suited for candidates who enjoy working with research content, data organisation, and detailed documentation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and locate research reports across internal teams and shared drives
  • Extract and verify key details from reports (such as title, author, year, and subject area)
  • Maintain a structured metadata catalogue in Excel
  • Organise and rename digital files (PDFs and Word documents) as per defined guidelines
  • Identify duplicate or incomplete files and flag them for review
  • Conduct basic quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Prepare a short handover summary at the end of the internship

 

Eligibility

  • Final year undergraduate or postgraduate students in:
    • Economics / Applied Economics / Development Economics
    • Finance / Financial Economics / Business Administration
  • Students of Public Policy or related fields may also apply

 

Skills Required

Essential:

  • Working knowledge of MS Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas)
  • Comfortable handling PDF and Word documents
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to understand research summaries/abstracts
  • Good written English
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Good to Have:

  • Basic understanding of economic policy themes
  • Experience with file management systems (Google Drive, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Exposure to research or documentation work
