Role Description Temporary Vacancy for 1 Month only The Intern/Law Clerk for District Court Jammu will assist advocates and legal teams with day-to-day court-related work and case management in an on-site capacity in Jammu. This full-time role involves attending court proceedings, taking detailed notes, organizing case files, and supporting the preparation of petitions, applications, and other legal documents. The intern will conduct legal and factual research, summarize case laws, and draft basic written submissions under supervision. Responsibilities also include coordinating with clients and office staff for information gathering, maintaining case calendars and hearing dates, and ensuring timely filing of documents. The role offers hands-on exposure to district court practice, procedural laws, and practical advocacy skills in a structured learning environment.

Qualifications

  • LL.B / BA LLB Graduate with Minimum 1 year of Experience
  • Candidates must be from Jammu District strictly
  • Ability to perform Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, formatting, and organizing pleadings and supporting materials.
  • Effective Communication skills for interacting with advocates, clients, and court staff.
  • Proficient in legal and factual Research, including use of online databases and statutory materials.
  • Clear and precise Writing skills for notes, summaries, and draft submissions.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed LL.B. or equivalent law program from a recognized institution.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Professional ethics, confidentiality, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced court environment.
  • Basic computer literacy, including word processing and online legal research tools.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages used in Jammu courts is an advantage.
