eGov Foundation is a 20-year-old tech-for-good organisation founded by Nandan Nilekani and Srikanth N to use technology to improve the delivery of public services and governance at scale and speed. Our goal To make public services more equitable, efficient, and transparent across 30 countries by. We currently work with 7 national and 16 sub-national governments and impact the lives of over 1 billion citizens, in sectors such Public Finance, Water, Sanitation, Urban, Public Health, Social benefits, among others. We do this through our core offering DIGIT (Digital Infrastructure for Governance, Inclusion & Transformation), which is a digital public good. DIGIT, an open-source governance technology platform, works like an operating system to build, design, and scale digital transformation programs in as little as 100 days. About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated intern to support the documentation and knowledge management efforts for CARE HMIS, an open-source Hospital Management Information System.

The intern will work closely with product, partnerships, and engineering teams to create high-quality documentation that enables System Integrator (SI) partners and implementers to successfully deploy and operate CARE HMIS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain functional, technical, and implementation documentation for CARE HMIS.
  • Develop user guides, implementation manuals, SOPs, process flows, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and implementation teams to understand system workflows and document them clearly.
  • Document APIs, configurations, integrations, and deployment processes.
  • Organize and structure knowledge repositories for easy access and reuse.
  • Support the creation of partner enablement and onboarding materials.
  • Review and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate student in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to understand and simplify complex software products, workflows, and processes.
  • Basic understanding of software systems, APIs, system architecture, and technical concepts.
  • Familiarity with healthcare or health-tech systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
