Job Description

These roles focus on the design and delivery of power electronics hardware that integrates tightly with firmware, power subsystems, and mechanical assemblies. The right candidate brings strong hands-on engineering skills and the drive to contribute meaningfully across the full product development cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and validation of PCBAs for CES energy products
  • Support full product lifecycle activities: schematic design, layout guidance, board bring-up, lab validation, and design for test and manufacture
  • Contribute to designs for analog signal conditioning, digital interfaces, MCUs, sensors, and communication buses (CAN, UART, RS-485, and others)
  • Partner closely with firmware, mechanical, test, and manufacturing teams to deliver production-ready designs
  • Participate in design reviews and support team development initiatives
  • Assist with sustaining improvements and field issue resolution as products mature

Minimum Qualifications

  • BSEE or MSEE with 4+ years of experience in power electronics hardware development
  • Strong background in electronics design, embedded systems, and board-level hardware architecture
  • Hands-on lab experience with board bring-up, validation, debugging, and test tools
  • Familiarity with design constraints related to thermal management, EMC, safety, and manufacturability
  • Proven ability to execute cross-functionally in new product development environments
  • Experience with design documentation and ECO control processes
  • Background with high-reliability products in demanding, long-warranty environments
  • Experience in PCB engineering including fabrication, assembly, thermal management, and connector/cable design

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with energy systems, IoT devices, or embedded hardware in regulated environments
  • Exposure to compliance testing (UL/IEC/EMC) and design transfer to contract manufacturing
  • Experience shipping products at scale — 1M+ units
  • Knowledge of low-power design, sensor integration, or signal integrity optimization
  • Embedded firmware development experience
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals — stress/strain, 1D thermodynamics, and common manufacturing techniques
