Civil Site Supervisor manages daily construction activities on-site. They direct workers, oversee subcontractors, and enforce safety regulations. Their core goal is ensuring civil projects (e.g., roads, buildings, foundations) are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality and engineering standards.Core ResponsibilitiesSite Execution: Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to guide construction teams.Quality Control: Inspect ongoing work to ensure it matches project specifications and identify/rectify structural or material errors.Safety Enforcement: Educate workers on safety protocols, enforce the use of PPE, and conduct regular hazard inspections.Resource Management: Coordinate the delivery, storage, and efficient use of construction materials, heavy machinery, and equipment.Team Supervision: Assign daily tasks to laborers and subcontractors, track attendance, and monitor overall productivity.Reporting: Maintain daily logs of progress, resource consumption, and potential delays to report to the Project Manager.Key RequirementsEducation: A diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction management discipline.Experience: Proven on-site experience (typically 3–5+ years) overseeing construction personnel and subcontractors.Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, utilize surveying/measuring tools, and use software like AutoCAD.Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and communication abilities to act as a bridge between clients and the crew.Certifications: Current health and safety certifications (e.g., OSHA or local equivalent) and basic first-aid training.
