Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Interior Estimator role based in Chennai. The Interior Estimator will review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for interior fit-out and manufacturing projects. Daily responsibilities include analyzing material, labor, and subcontractor requirements; obtaining and evaluating vendor quotations; and preparing detailed BOQs, rate analyses, and pricing sheets. The role involves coordinating with design, engineering, procurement, and project teams to clarify scope, resolve discrepancies, and support value engineering. The Interior Estimator will also assist in bid submissions, budget preparation, cost tracking, and regular updates to management on project cost status and risks.

Qualifications

  • Strong estimating expertise in interior fit-out and manufacturing, including quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and cost breakdowns.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, interior, MEP drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with estimation and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of materials, finishes, joinery, furniture, and interior construction methods relevant to commercial, residential, retail, and hospitality projects.
  • Ability to source and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations, negotiate pricing, and support procurement decisions.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordination with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
  • Proven ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tenders, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Prior experience as an interior estimator or quantity surveyor in fit-out or interior contracting is strongly preferred.
  • Must know how to make cutlist drawings also.
