Job Summary:
The Hospital Project Interior Designer is responsible for planning, designing, coordinating, and executing interior design projects for healthcare facilities. The role involves creating functional, safe, aesthetically pleasing, and patient-centric healthcare environments while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and hospital operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Planning
- Develop interior design concepts for hospital departments, including OPD, IPD, ICU, OT, Emergency, Diagnostic Centers, Laboratories, and Administrative Areas.
- Prepare space planning layouts, furniture layouts, ceiling plans, flooring plans, and detailed interior drawings.
- Create 2D and 3D designs, renderings, and presentations for management approval.
- Ensure designs meet healthcare functionality, patient comfort, accessibility, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, biomedical engineers, and hospital stakeholders during project planning.
Project Execution
- Supervise interior fit-out works and ensure adherence to approved designs.
- Monitor project timelines, quality standards, and budgets.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers for material procurement and execution.
- Conduct site inspections and resolve design-related issues during execution.
- Verify measurements, quantities, and material specifications before implementation.
Healthcare Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NABH, JCI, fire safety, infection control, and healthcare infrastructure standards.
- Select hospital-grade materials suitable for healthcare environments.
- Ensure patient safety, staff ergonomics, and accessibility norms are incorporated into designs.
- Coordinate with infection control and quality teams regarding design requirements.
Vendor & Material Management
- Evaluate and recommend materials, furniture, fixtures, and finishes.
- Obtain quotations, compare vendor proposals, and support procurement decisions.
- Ensure quality and timely delivery of materials and services.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain project documentation, drawings, BOQs, specifications, and approvals.
- Prepare project progress reports and status updates.
- Track design modifications and maintain revision records.
- Support project handover and closure documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
- Certification in Interior Design software is preferred.
Experience:
- 3–8 years of experience in Interior Design projects.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hospital, healthcare, or commercial interior projects preferred.
- Experience in hospital renovation, expansion, and greenfield projects is an added advantage.
