Key Responsibilities:
1. Concept Development:
o Understand client requirements, lifestyle, and objectives.
o Develop design concepts, mood boards, and visual themes.
2. Space Planning:
o Create detailed floor plans, layouts, furniture arrangements, and circulation
routes.
o Optimize space usage based on function, flow, and aesthetics.
3. Material & Finish Selection:
o Choose appropriate materials, fabrics, finishes, furniture, lighting, and
accessories.
o Stay updated on latest trends and sustainable options.
4. 3D Visualization & Presentations:
o Prepare 2D drawings, 3D renders, walkthroughs, and presentations using
design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, etc.).
o Communicate design ideas clearly to clients and teams.
5. Client Interaction:
o Attend client meetings and site visits.
o Present design proposals, collect feedback, and revise accordingly.
6. Technical Documentation:
o Prepare working drawings, detailed interior drawings, and specifications for
construction teams.
o Coordinate with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) consultants if
needed.
7. Vendor & Contractor Coordination:
o Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and fabricators for execution.
o Source materials and obtain quotations.
8. Project Oversight:
o Occasionally visit sites to ensure execution aligns with design intent.
o Resolve on-site design or technical issues in coordination with the site
supervisor or project manager.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design or Architecture. 15 years of experience in interior design firms (varies with seniority).
Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Revit, Lumion,
etc.).
Strong sense of color, texture, lighting, and composition.
Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
Understanding of building codes, safety, and sustainability.
