Job Summary: The interior designer is responsible for creating aesthetically pleasing and functional interior spaces that meet the needs and preferences of clients. They work on a variety of projects of residential homes and collaborate with clients, architects, and other professionals to ensure the successful execution of design projects.

Responsibilities:

• Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand their goals, preferences, and budget for the project.
• Space Planning: Develop interior layouts and floor plans that optimise space utilisation and functionality.
• Concept Development: Create design concepts, mood boards, and colour schemes that align with the client's vision and requirements.
• Material and Furniture Selection: Research and select appropriate materials, furniture, fixtures, and accessories to achieve the desired design.
• Budget Management: Develop project budgets and timelines, and ensure that design elements stay within budget constraints.
• Coordination: Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure design plans are integrated with new designs or renovation processes.
• Documentation: Create detailed design drawings, including plans, elevations, and specifications.
• 3D Rendering: Utilize design software to create 3D visualisations of proposed spaces.
• Site Visits: Conduct site visits to monitor the progress of projects and ensure design plans are being implemented correctly.
• Client Presentation: Present design concepts and ideas to clients and provide explanations and justifications for design choices.
• Trends and Research: Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technology to incorporate innovative ideas into projects.

Qualifications:

• B.Arch/M.Arch/B.Des/Diploma in interior design or a related field (Master's degree may be preferred for senior positions).
• Relevant experience in interior design, with a portfolio showcasing completed projects.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, V-ray, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong knowledge of interior design principles, including space planning, colour theory, and materials.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and with clients.
• Creativity and a keen eye for detail.
• Team handling, project management skills and the ability to manage budgets and timelines effectively.
