Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Interior Designer – Commercial role based in Mumbai. The Interior Designer will be responsible for developing commercial interior concepts, preparing mood boards and presentations, and translating client requirements into functional and aesthetic design solutions. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site visits, space planning, preparing detailed drawings and specifications, coordinating FF&E selections, and collaborating with clients, vendors, and contractors. The role also involves reviewing construction progress, ensuring adherence to design intent, timelines, and budgets, and supporting project managers in resolving design-related issues on site. The designer will work closely with the project team to maintain design quality, brand consistency, and safety and compliance standards across all commercial projects.
Qualifications
- Strong Interior Design skills, with a focus on commercial spaces and the ability to translate client briefs into cohesive design concepts.
- Proficiency in Space Planning to optimize layouts for productivity, circulation, and user experience in offices and other commercial environments.
- Knowledge of Architecture principles as they relate to interiors, including building codes, ergonomics, and integration with structural and MEP services.
- Experience preparing detailed Construction Drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and joinery details suitable for execution on site.
- Hands-on experience with FF&E selection and specification, including finishes, furniture, fixtures, and materials aligned with project budgets and design standards.
- Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, or similar), and MS Office for documentation and presentations.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, vendors, and on-site teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and handle on-site coordination in a fast-paced environment.
