Job Description

Material Depot is building the ultimate home décor destination-redefining how India discovers, selects, and buys interior materials including tiles, laminates, wall panels, wallpapers, flooring, and more.

By combining a strong physical retail presence with a fast-growing digital catalogue, we understand design trends in real time and work directly with manufacturers to launch relevant collections faster. Our goal is simple: make premium interior materials easier to discover, easier to visualise, and more accessible for every home.

Trusted by 15,000+ homes, Material Depot is transforming India's 1,00,000 crore interiors industry through better design, better selection, transparent pricing, and a consistent customer experience.

About the role :

Material Depot is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our Bengaluru team. This is an entry-level, full-time opportunity for someone who wants hands-on experience in retail interiors, showroom design, spatial planning, visual merchandising, and experience design.

You will help shape how customers explore and experience materials in our stores - creating thoughtfully planned spaces, displays, and renderings that make the material-shopping journey inspiring, simple, and engaging. You will work closely with the design and execution teams on new stores, showrooms, display zones, and customer-facing interior concepts.

What you'll do :

  • Develop furniture layouts, space-planning drawings, and circulation plans for stores, showrooms, display areas, and experience centres.
  • Prepare detailed architectural and interior drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, ceiling layouts, furniture details, and design documentation.
  • Assist in creating facade drawings, storefront concepts, signage zones, and external visual identity elements.
  • Design material displays, sample walls, product bays, and visual-merchandising layouts for tiles, laminates, wall panels, wallpapers, flooring, and other interior materials.
  • Support the creation of immersive, customer-friendly material-shopping experiences that help visitors visualise products in real home settings.
  • Create high-quality 3D views, renders, and visual presentations to communicate interior concepts, display ideas, and spatial experiences.
  • Help develop showroom concepts that balance aesthetics, functionality, customer movement, product visibility, and ease of selection.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and execution partners to translate concepts into accurate, execution-ready drawings.
  • Assist on new store launches, showroom upgrades, display installations, and ongoing design improvements across Material Depot locations.
  • Research current interior, retail, material, and visual-merchandising trends to bring fresh ideas to the team.
  • Ensure drawings, layouts, finishes, colours, materials, proportions, and display details are aligned with Material Depot's design standards.

What you'll need:

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in interior design, retail design, showroom design, or visual merchandising. Freshers with a strong portfolio are welcome.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp is required; knowledge of rendering tools such as Enscape, V-Ray, Lumion, or similar software is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of spatial planning, furniture layouts, design detailing, and retail circulation.
  • Ability to create clear technical drawings as well as visually strong concept presentations and renders.
  • A good eye for materials, colours, textures, proportions, lighting, and visual displays.
  • Interest in experience design and in creating spaces that make material discovery intuitive and exciting for customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple design tasks, work collaboratively, and meet project timelines.
  • Architecture / Interior Design degree is mandatory.

If you are excited by the idea of designing spaces that help people imagine their homes - and want to craft India's most inspiring material-shopping experience - we'd love to hear from you.
