Role Description The Interior Design Project Manager role at Orange Elephant Interiors is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. This role is responsible for managing interior design projects from initial client briefing through design development, construction documentation, and final handover. Daily tasks include coordinating space planning and interior design concepts, supervising preparation of construction drawings, and collaborating with manufacturing teams on custom furniture and fit-outs. The Interior Design Project Manager will liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met, while resolving site issues and maintaining clear project documentation. The role also involves regular site visits, monitoring progress, and aligning project deliverables with company processes and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Space Planning and Interior Design, with the ability to translate client requirements into functional, aesthetic layouts.
- Proficiency in Project Management, including scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience preparing and reviewing Construction Drawings and technical documentation for interior fit-out projects.
- Knowledge of Furniture design, manufacturing coordination, and integration of custom pieces into overall project plans.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar tools).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, site teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Prior experience in interior fit-out or construction project environments, preferably in commercial or hospitality sectors.
