Interior cabin Trims

Experience: 4-10 yrs

Job location: Pune

Scope of Role

Engineer is responsible for generating CATIA V5/V6 Body Engineering CAD concepts/ solutions for projects of Interior Interior-Cabin Trims.

Area of Responsibility:

This position is responsible for creation of CAD and lead role in support of various Interior-Cabin system.

Responsible for the design and development of

  • Pillar Trims: A‑Pillar, B‑Pillar (Upper/Lower), C‑Pillar (Upper/Lower), Scuff Plates. etc Headliners & Overhead Console: Fixed Roof, Panoramic Roof, Opening Panoramic Roof etc.
  • Carpet & Load Space: Front/Rear Carpet, Load Space Side Trims, Parcel Shelf, Load Floor, Storage Blocks etc.
  • NVH: Dash NVH, Bulkhead Insulation.
  • Ensure CAD data is up to date and reflects the required levels of maturity at any given point in time
  • Provide CAD support, leading and progressing the design in line with the program timescales and deliverable cadence
  • Ability to check and manage Interfaces and clearance to interface parts.
  • Ensure manufacturing feasibility of parts.
  • Ensuring issues that cannot be resolved are escalated to Team Lead.
  • Ensuring that the all-project deliverables are met on time.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all Cabin systems and components in alignment with project timelines and milestones.
  • Proactively escalate critical technical or program issues to the Cabin ML for timely decision-making and resolution.
  • Work in accordance with vehicle specification books, feature lists, and CMF (Colour, Material & Finish) requirements to ensure design compliance.
  • Maintain standardized templates and common practices for preparing technical specifications, DVPs, DFMEAs, and conduct structured technical design reviews.
  • Lead planning and execution activities to secure on time part development and delivery throughout program phases.
  • Own and deliver the Engineering Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) deliverables
  • Drive cross functional issue resolution meetings during development and launch phases to ensure smooth program progression.
  • Prepare Design Change Requests (DCRs) to address build issues and support timely implementation of necessary engineering updates.
  • Good Understanding of DFMEA, CAE requirements, DVP- Design validations, Testing on Component/Assembly
  • Support Purchasing team in Sourcing and RFQ activities.
  • Support vehicles launch and pre-production builds (both virtual and physical) establishing the teamwork plan
  • Should have knowledge of at least one Make to Print program from Kick-off to J1
  • Management of Supplier (s) to ensure system/component delivery to vehicle programme timing and attribute targets.

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in using CATIA V5 & V6. Catia V6 is most preferred.
  • Good all round design skills which must include experience of working on at least one of Pillar trims or scuff plates project.
  • Carpet and Load Space Trim project.
  • Experience in Soft trims and soft trims.
  • Successful history of delivery within the automotive sector.
  • Team Centre Engineering (TCE) / Enovia experience
  • Engineering knowledge of defined component(s) / system(s)design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements.

Skills:

  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills, adapting style to suit different audiences, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Demonstrates and fosters a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals.
  • In depth knowledge of Interior- Cabin Trims.
  • CAD Literacy: Ability to generate CAD data and Master sections in CATIA V5/V6
  • PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc
  • Analytical, logical, and critical thinking ability.
