Role Overview:
We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Insurance Underwriter – Excess & Specialty to work on a contractor basis. In this role, you will apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems in the insurance industry, specifically focusing on excess and specialty risk scenarios. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input, and you will have the opportunity to work with complex commercial and specialty risk scenarios in the US insurance market.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leverage your extensive underwriting expertise to evaluate complex commercial and specialty risk scenarios in the US insurance market, analyzing and interpreting coverage for excess and specialty lines.
• Analyze, interpret, and structure coverage for excess and specialty lines, focusing on liability, umbrella, and unique risk categories, and assess policy language to provide nuanced feedback on policy interpretation and coverage analysis.
• Identify risk factors and assess their impact on policy coverage, using your expertise to inform the development of AI systems that can accurately evaluate and manage risk.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the US insurance market, including regulatory requirements, industry trends, and emerging risks, and apply this knowledge to inform your underwriting decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that AI systems are trained on high-quality, relevant data, and that they are able to accurately evaluate and manage risk in the excess and specialty insurance space.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• You have extensive experience in commercial insurance underwriting, with a focus on excess and specialty risk scenarios, and a deep understanding of policy interpretation and coverage analysis.
• You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex risk scenarios and develop effective solutions.
• You have a strong understanding of the US insurance market, including regulatory requirements, industry trends, and emerging risks, and are able to apply this knowledge to inform your underwriting decisions.
• You are able to communicate complex technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing, and are able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
• You have a strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately evaluate and manage risk in the excess and specialty insurance space.
