Job Summary:
The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial instruments and control systems to ensure smooth and safe plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation equipment and sensors.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in PLC, SCADA, and control systems.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on field instruments and control valves.
- Interpret and update instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, and loop diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards during maintenance activities.
- Support plant operations by resolving instrumentation failures in a timely manner.
- Configure and repair transmitters, analyzers, and communication protocols like HART.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams for equipment upgrades and shutdown activities.
- Maintain documentation of maintenance tasks and calibration reports.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems
- Hands-on experience with calibration tools and techniques
- Understanding of P&ID, loop checks, and wiring diagrams
- Expertise in troubleshooting field instruments (temperature, pressure, flow, level)
- Knowledge of pneumatic and control valve systems
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and practices
Qualifications:
- Diploma/ITI in Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field
- 25 years of experience in industrial instrumentation (Manufacturing/Oil & Gas/Power Plant preferred)
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
