Job Description

The Utility Maintenance Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and calibration of all instrumentation systems supporting utility operations in a pharmaceutical plant. This role requires a strong understanding of instrumentation and control systems, pharmaceutical industry standards, and utility systems such as HVAC, water systems, and cleanroom environments.Key Responsibilities:

Instrumentation Maintenance & Calibration:

  • Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of utility-related instruments, including temperature sensors, pressure gauges, flow meters, and control valves.
  • Ensure all instrumentation systems meet GMP, FDA, and regulatory compliance standards.

Utility System Support:

  • Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation for utility systems such as purified water systems, HVAC, boilers, and chillers.
  • Monitor and optimize utility performance to meet production requirements.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical standards and practices (e.g., GMP, FDA, ISO).
  • Maintain accurate records of calibration, repairs, and maintenance activities in CMMS or equivalent systems.

Projects & Upgrades:

  • Support utility system upgrades, modifications, and expansions by designing and implementing new instrumentation solutions.
  • Participate in commissioning and validation of new systems or equipment.

Safety & Training:

  • Follow and enforce safety protocols during all maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff on instrumentation and control systems.

Education:Bachelor's degree or diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance within a pharmaceutical or utility maintenance context.
  • Hands-on experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA, and BMS systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in calibration techniques, troubleshooting, and maintenance of field instruments.
  • Familiarity with utility systems like HVAC, purified water systems, boilers, and chillers.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory standards (e.g., GMP, FDA).

Soft Skills:Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
