Key Responsibilities:
Instrumentation & Control Systems:
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of field instruments and control systems.
- Ensure proper functioning and calibration of flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, level transmitters, control valves, and analytical instruments.
- Monitor and maintain control systems such as DCS, PLC, SCADA, and VFDs.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuous plant operation.
- Review and approve instrumentation drawings, loop diagrams, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
Maintenance & Reliability:
- Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Utilize CMMS for tracking maintenance, calibration, and breakdown activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis for instrumentation failures and implement corrective actions.
- Improve system reliability and process accuracy through continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure instrumentation systems comply with chemical industry safety standards and statutory regulations.
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments related to instrumentation systems.
- Support environmental monitoring systems for emissions and process safety compliance.
- Promote safe work practices and adherence to plant safety policies.
Project Management:
- Manage instrumentation-related projects including installation, plant upgrades, and expansions.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Prepare cost estimates and manage instrumentation maintenance budgets.
Team Coordination:
- Lead and guide instrumentation technicians and shift engineers.
- Coordinate with Production, Mechanical, Electrical, and EHS teams for smooth plant operations.
