Role: Mid/Senior Instructional Designer

Reports to: Lead Instructional Design

Location: Bengaluru (Hybrid / Remote Option)

Role Overview

As a Mid/Senior Instructional Designer at EI Design (Powered by MPS), you will play a key role in designing and developing impactful learning experiences for global clients. You will work closely with Leads, Project Managers, and Visual/Technology teams to create high-quality, learner-centric solutions that align with client business goals.

This role demands creativity, analytical thinking, and strong knowledge of instructional design principles to convert business and learning needs into engaging digital learning solutions. It also needs agility and flexibility to adapt to different content delivery formats and visualizing them within template libraries for different clients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Learning Design & Development

  • Conduct learning needs, task, and audience analysis to understand business challenges and learner profiles.
  • Design instructional strategies, course structures, and content flows for different modalities, including eLearning, microlearning, blended learning, and VILT.
  • Create design documents, storyboards, scripts, and assessments aligned with project objectives.
  • Apply instructional design models such as ADDIE, SAM, and Bloom's Taxonomy effectively across projects.
  • Integrate visual, interactive, and engaging elements (such as scenarios, games, stories, anecdotal interventions, etc.) to enhance learner engagement.
  • Ensure all solutions adhere to accessibility, inclusivity, and quality standards.

2. Collaboration & Project Execution

  • Work collaboratively with visual designers, developers, and project managers to ensure the design intent translates accurately into development.
  • Participate in internal and client meetings to understand requirements and present design approaches.
  • Manage assigned tasks independently, ensuring on-time delivery and instructional quality.
  • Support prototype creation and review cycles, incorporating stakeholder and client feedback.

3. Quality & Process Adherence

  • Ensure content and design are accurate, consistent, and aligned with brand and client guidelines.
  • Conduct peer reviews to maintain instructional quality and consistency across deliverables.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned, templates, and design ideas.

4. Innovation & Learning

  • Stay updated on emerging learning trends, tools, and technologies (AI, AR/VR, adaptive learning).
  • Experiment with innovative formats such as scenario-based learning, gamified learning, and story-driven design.
  • Participate in internal learning sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Key Competencies

  • Strong understanding of basic Instructional Design principles, adult learning theories, and learning psychology.
  • Ability to create engaging, concise, and effective learning experiences.
  • Proficiency in storyboarding, visualization, and content structuring.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication and stakeholder-handling skills.
  • Working knowledge of authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate, Vyond, etc.) and basic LMS concepts (SCORM/xAPI).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities (a must-have quality).

Qualifications & Experience

  • 59 years of experience in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, or Corporate Training.
  • Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Learning Design, Education, Psychology, Communication, or related field.
  • Exposure to digital learning design, corporate L&D environments, or eLearning production.
