Instructional Designer II

Summary:

This role involves creating and managing training materials and curricula, analyzing learning needs, and designing tailored curricula. The position requires managing multiple projects, mitigating risks, and leveraging technology to support business goals. The role may also involve occasional travel for on-site training workshops.

Responsibilities:

• Create, organize, administer, maintain, and manage training material and curriculum.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, mitigating risks to eliminate potential roadblocks in the design, development, and implementation of training.
• Analyze the audience, environment, technologies, content, and operational constraints to identify business-relevant learning objectives and propose efficient and scalable products.
• Design tailored curricula considering UI, accessibility, and DEI standards and trade-offs associated with selecting the best delivery methods.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance solutions, considering factors such as quality, business impact, scalability, and sustainability.
• Take a data-driven approach to understand successes and improvement opportunities for the designed solution while establishing methods for ensuring both consistency and quality.
• Leverage the AWS suite of tools, and external resources, to support business goals through online resources and tools.
• Occasionally travel to different sites to host on-site training workshops, ensuring hands-on learning experiences.

Requirements:

• Experience in a training role (Coordination, Facilitation, Management).
• Knowledge of User Experience (UX) principles to create intuitive and engaging learning experiences, with familiarity in UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD).
• Basic programming and coding skills (e.g., familiarity with JavaScript, understanding functions, conditionals, arrays, loops, and basic troubleshooting).
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS (e.g., understanding basic elements, styling, and basic troubleshooting).
• Experience leading the development of game-like elements and simulations to create immersive and experiential learning environments.
• Familiarity with the latest developments in educational technology such as AI, chatbots, and AR/VR.
• Tertiary Education (Bachelor's/Master's Degree) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Computer Science, UX Design).

Required Skills:

• Creating a brand for the products developed (includes logo, wiki, brand posters, or any ancillary activities).
• Working on curriculum for different product modalities&mdashwhether e-learning or in-person workshops.
• Drafting all related communications for different product stages.

Preferred Skills:

• Expertise in instructional design and experience designing solutions.
• Understanding of how Learning Management Systems (LMS) work, including common LMS features and the use of eLearning products (such as Rise, Articulate, SCORM files).
• Proven track record of designing and developing learning products that positively impact specific success metrics (e.g., learner engagement, knowledge retention, performance improvement).
