About the Role

Equirus Capital is looking for a Vice President to lead institutional sales and custody business development. The incumbent will be responsible for acquiring and managing relationships with institutional clients, driving custody and allied product revenues, and working closely with internal teams to deliver seamless client solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, acquire and manage relationships with institutional clients including FPIs, AIFs, PMS, insurance companies, pension funds, mutual funds and family offices.
  • Drive custody, clearing, settlement and related product sales across the institutional client base.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow custody AUC and fee revenues.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for institutional clients, ensuring high levels of service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with product, operations and compliance teams to structure and deliver customized custody solutions.
  • Stay current on regulatory developments (SEBI, RBI, FEMA) impacting custody, clearing and institutional investing in India.
  • Represent Equirus at industry forums, client events and regulatory interactions.
  • Provide market intelligence and client feedback to internal stakeholders for product development.
  • Oversee and manage fund accounting processes including NAV computation, reconciliation, income distribution and financial reporting for institutional clients.
  • Drive both domestic and global institutional sales, managing relationships across onshore clients (AIFs, PMS, MFs) as well as offshore/cross-border clients (FPIs, global asset managers and international family offices).

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 1012 years of experience in institutional sales, custody, fund services or related capital markets roles.
  • Prior experience at a custodian bank, depository participant, broking firm or investment bank preferred.
  • Strong existing relationships with FPIs, AIFs, PMS managers or institutional investors.
  • Sound understanding of custody operations, settlement cycles, corporate actions and regulatory frameworks.
  • Fund accounting experience is mandatory
  • Both domestic and global institutional sales experience is mandatory prior exposure to cross-border client mandates and offshore institutional relationships is essential.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • CA, MBA (Finance) or CFA preferred.
