Key Responsibilities
Server & Hardware Deployment
- Lead hardware provisioning, including advanced RAID configuration and disk array optimization for high-write-volume applications.
- Configure and validate Dell iDRAC and Lifecycle Controller settings; establish firmware baselines using Dell OpenManage.
- Deploy Windows Server and hardened Linux distributions via PXE boot automation or iDRAC Virtual Media.
Network Configuration & Management
- Design and implement VLANs and network segmentation for physical security traffic.
- Configure QoS on Cisco Catalyst switches to prioritize high-bandwidth video streams.
- Manage PoE/PoE+ on access layer switches for IP cameras, door readers, and security panels.
- Harden Cisco IOS devices (ACLs, disabling services, securing SSH/HTTPS).
Testing, Validation & Support
- Coordinate with network engineers and security installers to validate network readiness and device-to-server communication.
- Perform bandwidth saturation tests, physical layer distance checks, and latency measurements.
- Provide 24x7 technical support, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for medium-complexity issues.
Documentation & Reporting
- Develop and maintain topology diagrams, VLAN matrices, IP assignment records, and configuration backups.
- Maintain weekly project status updates, programming sheet validations, as-built documentation, and asset records.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices across technical teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project and operational success.
