The Global Service & Support (GSS) organisation plays a critical role in delivering service excellence by helping customers maintain reliable, compliant and timely service for laboratory, clinical and analytical instrumentation. This role joins a high-performing commercial team focused on service growth across Australia and New Zealand.

Role summary

As an Inside Sales Representative - GSS Service (ANZ), you will manage and develop service-sales opportunities across Australia and New Zealand. You will drive service revenue by targeting uncontracted customers in the install base, securing service contract renewals, preparing service quotes, and maintaining a disciplined opportunity funnel. Using a consultative selling approach, you will understand customer needs, position appropriate service solutions and build trusted relationships across academic, biotech, pharma, clinical, industrial and other service markets.

You will work closely with Field Service Sales, Service Contracts, Service Operations, Technical Support and Field Service Engineers to support timely and high-quality service delivery. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy, owns service commercial activity within delegated authority, and contributes to revenue-driving initiatives for the ANZ GSS business.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the primary inside-sales contact for ANZ service customers across service contracts, preventive maintenance, break/fix support, parts, upgrades and related service offerings.
  • Qualify inbound service enquiries and proactively pursue outbound renewal, upsell and cross-sell opportunities across the install base.
  • Use consultative selling skills to understand customer requirements, compliance drivers, service history and commercial priorities, then recommend appropriate service solutions.
  • Prepare, price and issue accurate service quotes negotiate and close opportunities within delegated authority and in line with company policy.
  • Manage service contract renewals, drive renewal campaigns and reduce contract leakage through timely customer engagement and disciplined follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate opportunity funnel, ensuring CRM data quality, pipeline hygiene, next-step discipline and reliable forecasting.
  • Partner with Field Service Sales, Service Contracts, Service Operations, Technical Support and Field Service Engineers to coordinate scheduling, billing and customer communications to meet agreed SLAs.
  • Provide timely forecasts, pipeline reporting and performance insights to the Service Manager and Service Sales leadership.
  • Contribute to revenue-driving initiatives, continuous improvement activities and local campaign execution for GSS ANZ.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, customer compliance needs, delegated authorities and Thermo Fisher Scientific policies.



REQUIREMENTS:
. 2-5 years of sales experience experience selling technical services, parts, laboratory/clinical/analytical instrumentation, life-science products or medical device services is advantageous.

. Relevant tertiary qualification in science is advantageous life sciences, biology, chemistry or a related scientific discipline would be beneficial.

. Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales goals and targets
. Strong consultative selling and relationship building skills
. High level English language proficiency, excellent verbal and written communication abilities
. Strong Excel capability for reporting and analysis experience with CRM, ERP, service management systems is beneficial, including Salesforce and SAP.
. Ability to develop and maintain deep product and technical knowledge
. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
. Effective at working both independently and collaboratively
. Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple priorities
. Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities
