Overview
We are seeking a skilled Vulnerability Management Engineer with expertise in Server Operating Systems Microsoft Windows (essential) and Linux (preferable) to assess, prioritise, coordinate and remediate security vulnerabilities across enterprise server environments. The role is critical in reducing organisational risk by ensuring timely patching, configuration hardening, and continuous improvements in vulnerability management.
The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise, and additionally a strategic mindset to drive continuous improvement in vulnerability management processes.
Your role
- Server OS Security
- Manage vulnerability remediation for Windows Server (essentially) and Linux (preferable) platforms.
- Lead the Infrastructure security updates, and security configurations in line with organisational policy.
- Work closely with the Security, Operations and Application teams to remediate vulnerabilities and update configurations.
- Support incident response efforts related to vulnerabilities or exploits.
- Provide guidance on secure configuration and best practices.
- Track and reportremediation progress to leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliancewith internal policies and external regulations.
- Continuously improveprocesses, automation, delivery and reporting capabilities.
About you
- 10+ years of experience in Infrastructure, with at least 2 years in vulnerability remediation leadership/coordination.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
- Working knowledge of Group Policy management.
- Scripting/automation skills (e.g. Powershell).
- Knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with CVSS scoring, threat modelling, and risk management frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
- Certifications or suitable demonstrable experience.
- Ability to mentor and upskill Operational staff and junior Engineering team members.
- Networking knowledge beneficial
- Patch and update deployment (SCCM, Azure Update Manager).
- ServiceNow experience.
