About the Role
We are seeking a Level 2 Network Engineer with expertise in Cisco Network Analytics, BAU Operations, and Device Management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing Cisco network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with operational standards. He should be well versed in the Change and Incident Management process. He should be ready to work in 24 X 7 shift.
Key Responsibilities
Network Monitoring Incident Management:
- Monitor Cisco network infrastructure using tools such as Cisco DNA Center, Cisco Prime, ThousandEyes, NetFlow, or SolarWinds.
- Analyze network performance metrics, detect anomalies, and proactively address potential issues.
- Respond to and resolve network incidents, escalating complex issues to L3 teams when necessary.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring network issues and implement corrective actions.
BAU Operations Device Management:
- Perform routine health checks, firmware updates, and configuration backups of network devices.
- Manage Cisco routers, switches, and wireless controllers, ensuring optimal configuration and uptime.
- Support device provisioning, decommissioning, and lifecycle management.
- Maintain inventory records for network devices and ensure compliance with security policies.
Network Troubleshooting Optimization:
- Diagnose and resolve network latency, packet loss, and connectivity issues.
- Troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching issues (VLANs, STP, HSRP, VRRP).
- Work on QoS, ACLs, NAT, DHCP, and network segmentation to improve performance.
- Assist in capacity planning and network performance tuning.
Change Management Documentation:
- Implement network changes as per approved Change Management Process (ITIL framework).
- Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for network operations.
Security Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with network security best practices, including access controls and segmentation.
- Work with security teams to monitor for vulnerabilities and apply necessary patches.
- Assist in firewall policy reviews and VPN configurations, if required.
Basic Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in Cisco networking and BAU operations.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco DNA Center, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, or Cisco ThousandEyes.
- Strong knowledge of routing switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, HSRP, VRRP).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and log analysis for troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of firewall integrations, VPNs, and network security policies.
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL Foundation
- Desired certification from either of the following CCNP Enterprise or CCNP Security (preferred).
- Has a hands-on experience working multiple clients and deployments for the BAU operations and support
