ROLE PURPOSE

Lead business development for Ameenji Rubber Limited's infrastructure vertical by building strategic relationships, identifying high-value projects and converting technical opportunities into profitable orders. The role calls for a Civil Engineering professional with a strong infrastructure network, sound commercial judgement and a sustained record of account growth and long-term customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute an infrastructure sales strategy covering bridges, highways, ROBs/flyovers, metro projects, rail infrastructure and other relevant civil-engineering segments.
  • Build senior-level relationships with EPC leadership, project directors, procurement heads, consultants, design engineers, contractors and government-project stakeholders.
  • Identify strategic projects at an early stage, map stakeholders, assess project potential and prioritise opportunities based on value, probability, timing and strategic fit.
  • Lead project-based sales for bridge bearings, POT-PTFE/spherical bearings, expansion joints and other relevant engineered rubber solutions, coordinating technical inputs from design and engineering teams.
  • Engage with customer design/consultant teams to understand drawings, load and movement requirements, technical specifications, approval processes and applicable standards; ensure technical commitments are validated internally.
  • Own key-account plans, commercial negotiations, pricing strategy within delegated authority, order closure and long-term account development.
  • Coordinate tender participation, vendor approvals, prequalification, technical presentations, compliance documentation and strategic proposals.
  • Develop revenue forecasts, annual/quarterly sales plans, pipeline dashboards and management reports; provide early visibility of risks and expected order conversion.
  • Work cross-functionally with estimation, engineering, quality, production, dispatch and finance to align customer commitments with capability, margins, credit controls and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor market developments, competitors, project awards and customer buying trends; recommend new accounts, territories and product opportunities.
  • Guide and coach sales executives, set activity expectations, review performance and promote disciplined CRM/SAP usage and accurate reporting.
  • Maintain professional customer relationships after order placement to support issue resolution, repeat business, referrals and long-term partnerships.

Education & Experience

  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering strongly preferred.
  • 8-12 years of relevant infrastructure sales/business development experience, ideally involving bridge, highway, metro, railway, EPC or technical construction products.
  • Strong, demonstrable contacts across infrastructure companies, EPC contractors, consultants, project teams and procurement decision-makers.
  • Ability to understand civil/structural drawings, BOQs, tender conditions, project specifications and technical-commercial requirements.
  • Experience managing large project opportunities, strategic accounts, negotiations, forecasts and cross-functional order execution.
  • Evidence of stable employment and long-term relationship building, along with leadership, ownership, ethical selling and customer-first behaviour.
  • Willingness to travel extensively as required by project and customer needs.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)

  • Infrastructure vertical revenue, order intake and profitable growth.
  • Strategic account acquisition, project wins and repeat business.
  • Weighted pipeline value, forecast accuracy and sales-cycle conversion.
  • Contribution margin, pricing discipline and quality of receivables coordination.
  • Team productivity, CRM/SAP discipline and customer satisfaction.
  • Cross-functional execution of commitments and resolution of escalated customer issues.

REPORTING / ROLE LEVEL

Senior individual contributor / functional lead; may guide a sales team and report to senior management.
