Job responsibilities
- Understand the firm's database infrastructure environment and technology modernization roadmap.
- Partner with application teams to plan and execute database migrations.
- Migrate workloads to the latest database products and versions on private cloud or public cloud platforms.
- Provide post-migration expertise to maximize application workload performance and resiliency.
- Monitor database performance to ensure stable, efficient operations.
- Optimize capacity and scalability to meet current and future demand.
- Identify and deliver automation solutions to run performance/capacity requirements more efficiently.
- Collaborate with developers to refine database schemas, optimize queries, and improve application performance.
- Support 24/7 availability and reliability for mission-critical systems through proactive analysis, enhancements, and after-hours/weekend release deployments, maintenance windows, and upgrades as needed.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Demonstrate practical understanding of AI technologies aligned to modernization and transformation goals.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools for performance analysis and ongoing optimization.
- Apply AI to improve operational efficiency (e.g., reducing toil, accelerating routine tasks).
- Use AI-assisted approaches for incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and faster remediation.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation, including engineering and support processes.
- Apply AI to knowledge management (e.g., documentation, runbooks, search, and Q&A workflows).
- Perform database operations and administration, including strong core database administration skills.
- Administer and troubleshoot Oracle GoldenGate in production environments.
- Execute homogeneous and heterogeneous database migration techniques, including tuning and troubleshooting.
- Bring cloud and engineering fundamentals: AWS experience (required), optional Azure/GCP/OCI, plus scripting (SQL/PL/SQL/PowerShell/Python/Shell) and DevOps/CI/CD/infrastructure automation understanding.
