Job Description

The Infrastructure Engineer under moderate supervision is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting the infrastructure. This involves analyzing, configuring, testing, and implementing the infrastructure. This may also involve monitoring and controlling the performance and status of the infrastructure. This role will also support and maintain the infrastructure. This may include evaluating and making recommendations for enhancements to the existing infrastructure.

What you will be doing:

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Design and develop Ansible playbooks and roles to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment.
  • Maintain and update Ansible infrastructure components, such as Ansible Control Tower and Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security, to understand their needs and integrate Ansible into their workflows.
  • Proficiency in OpenShift administration and its components
  • Experience in a corporate container environment on Dockers, OpenShift cluster.
  • Managed Docker orchestration and Docker containerization using Kubernetes
  • Orchestrate the deployment, scaling, and management of Docker Containers in the OpenShift platform.
  • Automate repetitive tasks such as server provisioning, scaling, application deployment, and environment configuration using tools like Ansible playbooks/Ansible tower platform.
  • Experience in Kafka cluster environment.
  • Analyze business requirements and design automation solutions using Ansible.
  • Develop, test, and deploy Ansible playbooks and roles to automate various tasks.
  • Maintain and update Ansible infrastructure components, such as Ansible Control Tower and Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Implement security best practices for Ansible, including credential and secrets management.
  • Orchestrate the deployment, scaling, and management of Docker Containers.
  • Perform automation tasks to increase systems efficiency and reduce human intervention.
  • Crosstrain infrastructure team members in areas of expertise
  • Experience with Configuration Management tools like Ansible
  • Automate installation, upgrade, or removal of software packages across multiple systems.
  • Hands-on experience in automating repetitive tasks using Ansible playbooks and AAP templates in Ansible Tower.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate Ansible into CI/CD pipelines and automate application deployments.
  • Experience in Dev-ops model
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Flexdeploy/Jenkins etc.
  • Good Knowledge of Shell, Python, Perl & expert scripting
  • Ownership of various systems engineering projects related to RHEL systems infrastructure.
  • Experience with REDHAT Linux systems Admiration skills.
  • Error Handling: Implement error handling and notifications in playbooks to alert administrators of any issues.
  • Experience in a corporate environment on Linux with a VMware environment.
  • Perform Ansible automation for reoccurring BAU tasks to increase systems efficiency and reduce human intervention.
  • Hands-on experience in Ansible Automation
  • Significant experience in Automation tools like Ansible/Scripting to automate the day 2 day Linux tasks.
  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles to automate the configuration of Linux servers, network devices, and cloud instances.
  • Automate routine system administration tasks like software installation, patching, security updates, and system settings.
  • Handle Kubernetes resources (e.g., Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets) and ensure efficient load balancing, scaling, and rolling updates.
  • Implement Helm charts for managing Kubernetes deployments and configurations.
  • Terraform experience on to create Iaas(Infrastructure as a code)
  • Write reusable Ansible playbooks and roles that define and manage infrastructure as code.
  • Maintain version control (e.g., using Git.bitbucket ) for Ansible playbooks to ensure traceability and rollback capabilities.
  • Manage and maintain container orchestration systems like Kubernetes or Open Shift to automate the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
  • Automate the provisioning and configuration of web servers, databases, application servers, etc .
  • Ensure that Ansible roles and playbooks are modular, reusable, and easy to maintain for different teams.
  • Integrate Ansible into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the delivery of infrastructure and application changes.
  • Manage and scale Open Shift clusters by adding or removing nodes as needed.
  • Install and configure Open Shift clusters, ensuring the proper setup of nodes, control planes, and worker nodes.
  • Manage Open Shift upgrades and patching to ensure the cluster is running the latest supported version.
  • Ensure that Open Shift security policies (e.g., network policies, pod security policies) are enforced. This includes managing certificates, user access, and audit logs.
  • Manage the deployment and scaling of applications in Open Shift using Kubernetes resources such as Pods, Deployments, Stateful sets, and Daemon Sets.
  • Configure Open Shift networking, including routes, services, and ingress controllers.
  • CI/CD Integration: Integrate Open Shift with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) to automate application deployment and updates.
  • Ensure that disaster recovery procedures are in place to recover Open Shift clusters in the event of failure.
  • Set up and manage persistent storage for Open Shift applications using Open Shift s Storage Class and persistent volume (PV) mechanisms.

What we are looking for :

Qualifications

  • Passion for continual improvement
  • 10 -12 years of experience in Ansible automation, OpenShift Containerization administration, and Linux Systems Administration experience.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in Ansible automation, python, and OpenShift containerization with sharp analytic skills.
  • Proven Automation and Containerization architecture and design skills.
  • Automation tools like Ansible /scripting or others to automate the day-to-day tasks
  • Contributes to process improvements.
  • Proficiency in Ansible playbooks, modules, roles, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in setting up and configuring monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong experience in Ansible automation, OpenShift, and Linux administration.
  • Strong understanding of Ansible: Proficiency in Ansible playbooks, modules, roles, and best practices.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and container orchestration.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge and Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux System Administration.
  • Experience with Infrastructure automation using the Ansible automation platform.
  • Expertise in Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting for custom automation tasks.
  • Sharp analytic and troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong understanding of containerization concepts, Docker, and container registries.
  • Experience in Ansible Automation for reoccurring tasks.
  • Beyond the day-to-day, the team contributes to longer-term technical projects, IT infrastructure efforts, automation, and IT process improvements .
  • Experience working with production multi-tier applications in highly available environments.
