Position Details

• Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer - GCP
• Function/Department: Technology
• Location: Hyderabad / Bangalore
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Reports To: Sumanta Nandy

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Transformation: Work on cloud transformation projects across cloud engineering to provide automation and self-service.
• Infrastructure Automation: Implement automation and self-service capabilities using CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure.
• Container Platform: Write and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure as code and support container platform adoption (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Cloud Platform Governance: Design controls and governance policies around the GCP platform and automate deployments.
• End-User Collaboration: Conduct sessions to educate end users on services and automation capabilities.
• Problem-Solving: Identify opportunities for automating manual tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Escalation Support: Provide assistance during major production issues from an engineering perspective.

Key Requirements:

• Cloud Transformation: Experience with large cloud transformation projects, especially in GCP.
• GCP Expertise: Strong understanding of GCP services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and networking concepts like VPC, DNS, and load balancing.
• Security: Experience with cloud security best practices and tools (e.g., IAM, Cloud Armor, Cloud Security Command Center).
• Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in writing infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Terraform, Ansible, and Bash.
• Container Management: Hands-on experience working with Kubernetes (GKE) and managing containers in both Windows and Linux environments.
• DevOps Tools: Knowledge of tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Nexus for pipeline automation and artifact management.
• TLS/Encryption: Implementation experience with secure transports, TLS, encryption, and authentication/authorization flows.
• Python (Good to have): Experience in Python coding for automation or other related tasks.
• Azure Cloud: Knowledge of Azure Cloud Platform is a plus.

Qualification:

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a relevant field.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT automation with at least 2 years supporting GCP-based cloud automation and 2 years of experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Certification: Relevant GCP certification.
