Infrastructure Engineer

This role focuses on designing, automating, supporting, and modernizing the infrastructure used by engineering and product teams. The position emphasizes building reliable, repeatable, and scalable infrastructure through automation, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD integration, and operational ownership. The work spans Linux and Windows environments, virtualization, cloud platforms, storage, networking, and pipeline‑driven automation, with close collaboration across technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles
- Develop and support automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, GitLab CI, and Jenkins
- Build and maintain golden images, VM templates, and repeatable provisioning workflows for Linux and Windows environments
- Support hybrid infrastructure across on‑premises virtualization platforms and cloud environments
- Maintain and improve CI/CD infrastructure, including Jenkins controllers, Jenkins agents, GitLab runners, and related build systems
- Create and improve reusable automation patterns, modules, playbooks, and pipeline templates that can be adopted across teams
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across compute, storage, networking, DNS, authentication, and operating systems
- Collaborate with security, operations, and compliance teams to ensure infrastructure meets organizational standards
- Document architecture, operational procedures, standards, and support expectations
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts
- Support migration and modernization initiatives from manual or legacy processes to automated, self‑service solutions
Qualifications
- 3-5 years total experience
- Hands‑on experience with Linux administration, including distributions such as Red Hat, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, or similar
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and/or Packer
- Experience supporting CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar systems
- Understanding of virtualization concepts, including VM templates, images, snapshots, volumes, storage backends, and provisioning workflows
- Experience troubleshooting network, DNS, firewall, routing, storage, and operating system issues
- Familiarity with Git‑based workflows, code reviews, branching strategies, and pipeline‑driven deployments
- Ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate complex topics to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a sense of ownership
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teams
