Project Role : Infrastructure Consulting Practitioner

Project Role Description : Support clients to design, build and run an agile, scalable IT infrastructure that is standardized and optimized to deliver operational efficiencies, improve employee and workplace performance and meet dynamic business demands. Apply infrastructure improvements across the workplace, network, data center and operations as well as provide resources to manage and run the infrastructure on a managed or capacity services basis.

Summary:

As an Infrastructure Consulting Practitioner, you will support clients in designing, building, and running agile and scalable IT infrastructures. Your typical day will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize operational efficiencies, enhance employee performance, and adapt to evolving business needs. You will apply infrastructure improvements across multiple domains, including workplace, network, data center, and operations, ensuring that the infrastructure is standardized and optimized for maximum effectiveness. Additionally, you will provide resources to manage and operate the infrastructure, whether on a managed or capacity services basis, contributing to the overall success of client projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

System Administration

Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9) servers

Manage system services, users, groups, permissions, and sudo access

Perform system monitoring, tuning, and performance optimization

Manage storage (LVM, file systems, mount points, multipath)

Security & Compliance

Implement and maintain OS-level security hardening

Manage SELinux, firewalld/iptables policies

Work with endpoint security tools such as CrowdStrike, Qualys, antivirus agents

Apply security patches and vulnerability remediation

Support audit, compliance, and vulnerability assessments

Networking

Configure and troubleshoot network interfaces, routing, DNS, and NTP

Diagnose connectivity issues (SSH, TCP/IP, firewall rules)

Work with jump/bastion hosts and zero-trust security models

Patch & Package Management

Manage YUM/DNF repositories and package installations

Perform OS patching and upgrades using Red Hat best practices

Handle kernel updates and system reboots with minimal downtime

Automation & Scripting

Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation

Use configuration management tools (Ansible preferred)

Automate routine tasks such as patching, user management, and health checks

Troubleshooting & Support

Provide L2/L3 support for Linux-related incidents and problems

Perform root cause analysis for system and application issues

Coordinate with network, security, and application teams

Virtualization & Cloud (optional based on role)

Support Linux systems on VMware, AWS, Azure, or GCP

Understand cloud security groups, NSGs, and IAM concepts

Documentation & Change Management

Maintain system documentation and SOPs

Participate in change management and on-call rotations

Follow ITIL processes (incident, problem, change)

Additional Information:

  • The candidate should have minimum 2 years of experience in Linux Operations.
  • This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
  • A 15 years full time education is required.
