Project Role : Infra Tech Support Practitioner
Project Role Description : Provide L1–L2 technical support for infrastructure, systems, and applications in production and development environments, both remotely and onsite, following defined operating models and processes. Act as the primary interface with users/clients to accurately diagnose issues and deliver effective resolutions across infrastructure, operating systems, networks, and application platforms, ensuring service stability and quality support.

Summary:
As an Infra Tech Support Practitioner, a typical day involves delivering first and second level technical assistance for infrastructure, systems, and applications across both production and development settings. This role requires working closely with users and clients to identify and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring smooth operation and stability of services. The position includes providing support through remote and onsite engagements, adhering to established procedures and operational frameworks to maintain high-quality service delivery and minimize downtime.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Upgrades and Patches: Plan and perform AKS upgrades and apply security patches to keep the clusters up-to-date and secure.
ITSM: Need to work on incidents, Change Requests, RCAs, CMDB etc.
Documentation: Need to create documentation related to AKS.
Shifts and On-call: Need to work on night shifts and on-calls on a rotational basis, as and when required by the team.
Meetings and Calls: Need to participate in various calls and discussions with different teams as AKS SME and to share required inputs as Kubernetes / AKS SME.
Professional & Technical Skills:
Should have in-depth knowledge on core Kubernetes concepts like Pods, Deployments, Services, Namespaces, PVs, PVCs, Storage Classes, Role Assignments, Kubernetes Networking, PDBs, HPA etc. Need to have proficiency on working with kubectl tool. Need to have good knowledge and understanding on YAML files related to Kubernetes.
AKS : Should have in-depth knowledge on AKS concepts like Node Pools, AKS RBAC, AKS upgradation, Node OS upgradation, AKS Monitoring, AKS Logging, Workload Identity etc.
Azure DevOps: Working knowledge of Azure DevOps , which includes Azure Repo, branching strategy, pull requests, and git commands. Must know how to use Azure DevOps through IDE tool like VS Code.
Azure : Proficiency in using Azure services, especially Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
Should have good knowledge on Azure Services like VNet, Subnet, UDR, NSG, Private Endpoint, Private DNS, Managed Identity, Role Assignment, Key Vault, Storage Account , Load Balancer etc.
Terraform: Should have experience in using terraform to deploy Azure Services and AKS Cluster.
AKS Cluster Provisioning and Configuration: Deploy and set up AKS clusters with appropriate configurations using Terraform.
Monitoring and Logging: Should have good knowledge on monitoring and logging solutions to gain insights into cluster performance, application behavior, and resource usage.
Security: Should have good knowledge on security best practices for AKS, including RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), network policies, and secure container images.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to AKS clusters, Kubernetes, Terraform, and infrastructure components.
Upgrades and Patches: Plan and perform AKS upgrades and apply security patches to keep the clusters up-to-date and secure, using in-line or blue-green upgradation approach.
GitOps : Working knowledge of any of the GitOps tool (Flux / ArgoCD) is preferred.
Service Mesh : Knowledge of a Service Mesh product (ex: Istio) is preferred.
Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to Kubernetes and containerized applications.
Cloud Native Ecosystem: Awareness of other cloud-native tools and technologies such as Istio, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines.
Communication and Teamwork: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
