We are looking for a proactive Junior IT Support Engineer to support IT operations in a fast-paced semiconductor and engineering environment. This role involves ensuring seamless IT support for end users and engineering teams, maintaining infrastructure, and enabling high-performance computing environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide L1/L2 support for hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Set up and support engineering workstations and required tools
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and high-performance workstations
- Troubleshoot Windows/Linux OS, email, VPN, and network connectivity issues
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control (AD/LDAP)
- Handle IT asset lifecycle including procurement, tracking, and maintenance
- Support installation and maintenance of licensed engineering tools (EDA preferred)
- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure (LAN/Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls)
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and standards
- Coordinate with vendors and manage AMC/support contracts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in IT support or system administration
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux environments
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Experience with Active Directory, VPN, and remote support tools
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (Zoho, ServiceNow, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in semiconductor or engineering organizations
- Exposure to EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics)
- Basic knowledge of servers, storage systems, and virtualization
- Certifications such as Red Hat (RHCSA/RHCE) or CCNA
