We are looking for a proactive Junior IT Support Engineer to support IT operations in a fast-paced semiconductor and engineering environment. This role involves ensuring seamless IT support for end users and engineering teams, maintaining infrastructure, and enabling high-performance computing environments.

We are looking for a proactive Junior IT Support Engineer to support IT operations in a fast-paced semiconductor and engineering environment. This role involves ensuring seamless IT support for end users and engineering teams, maintaining infrastructure, and enabling high-performance computing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide L1/L2 support for hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Set up and support engineering workstations and required tools
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and high-performance workstations
  • Troubleshoot Windows/Linux OS, email, VPN, and network connectivity issues
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control (AD/LDAP)
  • Handle IT asset lifecycle including procurement, tracking, and maintenance
  • Support installation and maintenance of licensed engineering tools (EDA preferred)
  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure (LAN/Wi-Fi, switches, firewalls)
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and standards
  • Coordinate with vendors and manage AMC/support contracts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in IT support or system administration

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux environments
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience with Active Directory, VPN, and remote support tools
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (Zoho, ServiceNow, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in semiconductor or engineering organizations
  • Exposure to EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics)
  • Basic knowledge of servers, storage systems, and virtualization
  • Certifications such as Red Hat (RHCSA/RHCE) or CCNA
