Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Operations Associate to support day-to-day IT infrastructure and operations. The role involves managing servers, IT assets, end-user support, virtualization environments, and network infrastructure to ensure smooth and secure IT operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Server Management

  • Monitor and maintain servers (Windows/Linux)
  • Perform routine health checks, patching, and updates
  • Ensure system availability, performance, and security

2. Asset Management

  • Maintain inventory of IT assets (hardware & software)
  • Track asset lifecycle (procurement, allocation, disposal)
  • Ensure compliance with asset management policies

3. End-User Support

  • Provide L1/L2 support for desktops, laptops, and applications
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Handle user requests, incidents, and service tickets

4. Virtualization Management

  • Manage and support virtual environments (VMware / Hyper-V)
  • Monitor virtual machines and optimize resource usage
  • Assist in provisioning and maintenance of VMs

5. Network & Security Management

  • Configure and manage:
  • Network switches
  • Firewalls
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Implement basic network security practices

Required Skills & Expertise

Core Skills

  • Server administration (Windows / Linux)

  • End-user / desktop support
  • Virtualization technologies

Technical Skills

  • VMware / Hyper-V
  • Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP)
  • Firewall and switch configuration
  • ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)

Security & Compliance

  • Basic knowledge of IT security practices
  • Patch management and system hardening

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Microsoft / Linux certifications
  • CCNA
