We're looking for an IT Operations Engineer to become the trusted local face of IT across our engineering offices. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work with modern Microsoft technologies, support a highly skilled engineering workforce, and play a critical role in delivering an exceptional end-user experience.

This is more than a traditional support role. You'll work across a broad range of technologies including Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender, Autodesk applications, AV systems, networking, and endpoint management while collaborating with global IT teams to maintain consistent standards and drive continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

Deliver Outstanding End-User Support

  • Provide responsive support for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, and collaboration tools.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and Microsoft 365 issues.
  • Maintain clear communication with users and provide timely ticket updates.

Support Business-Critical Engineering Applications

  • Provide first-line support for Autodesk applications including AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
  • Assist with licensing administration and vendor coordination.

Manage Modern Endpoints

  • Support device deployment and lifecycle management using Microsoft Intune and Autopilot.
  • Assist with patch management, software deployment, compliance monitoring, and endpoint security.
  • Monitor and escalate Microsoft Defender for Endpoint alerts when required.

Drive Service Excellence

  • Manage incidents, requests, and problem records within agreed service levels.
  • Work closely with specialist IT teams and third-party vendors to resolve complex issues.

Enable Seamless Employee Experiences

  • Ensure new joiners are productive from day one.
  • Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, internal moves, and equipment recovery.
  • Provide high-quality support for VIP users and executive stakeholders.

Maintain Collaboration & Workplace Technology

  • Support meeting room technology including Microsoft Teams Rooms and conferencing solutions.
  • Troubleshoot AV systems and assist with hybrid meetings and events.

Support Infrastructure & Office Technology

  • Provide smart hands support for networking, server hardware, office moves, and communications rooms.
  • Assist infrastructure teams with connectivity checks, hardware installations, and equipment replacements.

Maintain Security & Asset Governance

  • Support local security controls and compliance practices.
  • Maintain accurate asset inventories, warranty records, and documentation.
  • Contribute to IT knowledge bases and operational documentation.

What You'll Bring

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience supporting end users within a corporate or multi-site environment.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL Incident, Request, and Problem Management.
  • Windows 11 administration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Microsoft 365 support experience including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Copilot.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and Autopilot.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Experience supporting AV and conferencing technologies.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.

Desirable

  • Experience with backup technologies such as Veeam or Azure Backup.
  • Exposure to Azure services and cloud technologies.
  • Understanding of SIEM platforms and vulnerability management.
  • Knowledge of secure email gateway technologies.
  • Experience with IT asset management tools and processes.
  • Awareness of ISO 27001 and information security best practices.
