Job Description

Information Technology Manager

The Role

We're looking for a tech-first, hands-on Information Technology Manager to lead IT operations with a strong focus on automation, reliability, and security. You'll lead a small, high-impact team and specialist contractors, staying technical enough to solve complex problems and continuously improve identity, endpoint, network, and internal application operations.

You think at the solution level, treat employees as your customers, and partner effectively across functions. You're pragmatic, adaptable, and use AI as a force multiplier for yourself and your team.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop a team: Manage IT engineers, support engineers, and contractors covering hardware and assets, end-user support, and networking.
  • Stay hands-on technically: Work alongside engineers on scripting, automation, identity, and endpoint management, and help resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Drive IT automation and reliability: Automate identity lifecycle management (joiner-mover-leaver), endpoint management, and routine operations. Build for reliability and observability.
  • Own identity and endpoint security: Partner with the Security team on SSO/IdP, MDM, device compliance, endpoint protection, and patch management.
  • Modernize IT support: Establish SLAs, improve self-service and automated triage, and shift the team from reactive ticket resolution to proactive problem-solving.
  • Manage IT assets and SaaS licenses: Oversee procurement, tracking, renewals, and cost optimization while maintaining reliability.
  • Maintain audit readiness: Own IT controls and evidence for SOC 2 audits, and conduct periodic access reviews.
  • Manage IT vendors: Oversee networking vendors responsible for office networks, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Collaborate across functions: Partner with Finance, HR, Security, and business teams on access management, onboarding, and technology requirements.
  • Champion AI adoption: Drive the use of AI assistants, coding agents, and internal automation to improve team productivity.
  • Maintain documentation and metrics: Establish clear documentation, runbooks, and metrics to monitor IT health and performance.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 6–10 years in IT operations or corporate IT, including at least 2 years leading an IT team. Currently working as an IT Manager or in an equivalent role.
  • Identity and access management: Strong hands-on experience with Google Workspace (preferred) or Microsoft 365 / Entra ID, including SSO/IdP, automated provisioning, and the joiner-mover-leaver lifecycle.
  • Endpoint management: Strong expertise in at least one MDM solution, preferably Jamf, with working knowledge of Intune. Experience managing macOS and Windows fleets, including OS updates and large-scale patching.
  • Endpoint security: Experience deploying and managing endpoint protection or EDR solutions and enforcing device compliance.
  • IT asset and license management: Experience managing IT assets, SaaS licenses, and device and access provisioning during onboarding and offboarding.
  • Service desk management: Experience managing an ITSM or service desk function with defined SLAs and performance metrics. Exposure to AI-powered service desk tools, automated triage, self-service, or virtual agents is a strong plus.
  • Audit and compliance: Experience supporting SOC 2 or ISO IT audits, including controls, evidence collection, and access reviews.
  • Automation and scripting: Hands-on experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell and workflow automation tools. A proven track record of automating IT operations rather than simply managing support queues.
  • AI tooling: Active use of AI tools in your own work and the ability to drive adoption across a team.
  • Networking: Solid understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and Wi-Fi, with the ability to effectively manage external networking vendors.
  • Leadership and mindset: Service-oriented, collaborative, and open to feedback, with a pragmatic approach to processes and problem-solving.
  • Communication: Strong English communication and stakeholder management skills in a fast-moving environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, particularly infrastructure management and cloud audits.
  • Experience building or scaling identity and endpoint automation in a growing technology organization.
  • Experience administering collaboration tools such as Atlassian, Slack, or Zoom.
  • Exposure to lightweight CI/CD or infrastructure-as-code for internal tooling.
