Job Description

Role Purpose

The IT Business Partner – Logistics will act as the key interface between Logistics function and IT, driving digital transformation initiatives across inbound, outbound, EXIM, and warehouse logistics. The role is responsible for ensuring seamless alignment of logistics processes with IT systems to enable efficient, scalable, and cost-effective operations for giga-scale battery manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business-IT Alignment

  • Partner with Logistics, EXIM, and Supply Chain teams to understand business priorities and translate them into technology-enabled solutions
  • Act as a single point of contact for all IT-related logistics initiatives and escalations
  • Ensure alignment of IT roadmap with
  • logistics strategy and plant expansion plans

2. Digital Logistics Transformation

  • Drive implementation and optimization of logistics platforms (e.g., TMS, yard management, shipment visibility tools like GoComet, EXIM – Opti Exim)
  • Lead digital initiatives across freight management, route optimization, track & trace, and freight cost visibility
  • Enable integration of logistics systems with ERP (SAP S/4HANA), supplier networks, and manufacturing systems

3. Program & Delivery Governance

  • Lead end-to-end program delivery for logistics IT initiatives including requirement gathering, design, UAT, and go-live
  • Ensure consensus-driven decision-making between business and technical teams
  • Establish governance forums to track milestones, risks, and dependencies
  • Drive structured issue resolution and escalation management

4. UAT & Data Readiness

  • Ensure completeness of master data, transactional data, and interfaces required for logistics operations
  • Drive comprehensive UAT scenarios covering inbound, outbound, EXIM, and warehouse movements
  • Facilitate strong coordination between SI partners and business users to avoid knowledge gaps

5. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Manage system integrators (e.g., PwC, other partners) ensuring delivery accountability and performance tracking
  • Ensure payment milestones are linked to quality and timely delivery

6. Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and enforce standardized logistics processes across plants and regions
  • Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvement, and cost optimization
  • Ensure compliance with global trade, EXIM, and regulatory requirements

Key Systems & Functional Scope

  • Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
  • Shipment visibility & freight platforms (e.g., GoComet)
  • Warehouse & Yard Management Systems
  • SAP S/4HANA Logistics & Integration layers
  • EXIM / Trade compliance solutions
  • Supplier collaboration platforms

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / IT (MBA preferred)
  • 10–15 years of experience in Supply Chain / Logistics IT
  • Strong exposure to end-to-end logistics processes including EXIM, freight, and warehouse operations
  • Experience in large-scale digital transformation programs (preferably in manufacturing / automotive / energy sectors)
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership
